The story of Birdies Hot Chicken

The story of Birdies Hot Chicken started in 2018 when Vivian and Anthony traveled to Nashville, Tennessee for a weekend getaway, not knowing this trip would change their life forever. When Vivian, a self-proclaimed “foodie”, had her first taste of Nashville Hot Chicken, she saw the potential in it. She was inspired to devise her own best version of Nashville hot chicken.

After arriving home from Nashville, Vivian and Anthony bought themselves a fryer, though having limited experience with frying. They invited a few friends over to taste the first recipe of her Nashville Hot Chicken. In their old apartment the windows only cracked open a few inches, and the smell of cooked food lingered in the apartment for days. Discouraged by the smell and results, they waited to move before they could cook again. Since then, Vivian and Anthony has hosted countless “test kitchens” over the years inviting her friends and family and frying her best version of Nashville Hot Chicken from her 3rd floor apartment deck. 
 

Anthony comes from public accounting background working in audit and tax specializing in restaurants and hospitality. Anthony worked right across the street from Birdies Brockton for 6 years at a small CPA firm, which is the reason they chose the location. Anthony graduated from Suffolk University in 2012, so he wanted to open a location right where his alma mater is, reason why he chose downtown crossing.   

Vivian Chow has worked at China Sky a family owned Chinese and sushi restaurant located in Winchester for 15 years! Vivian brings valuable experience from her time there, Anthony believes they make the best team with his accounting background and Vivian’s restaurants experience. Vivian graduated from Newbury College in 2012.  
Vivian and Anthony are very proud of their version of Nashville Hot Chicken, and their mission is to share it with everyone.
